Email Marketing: What to Include in Your Email

Email Marketing: What to Include in Your Email

When it comes to email marketing, there are many things to consider. From setting up your marketing automation platform to sending out successful email campaigns, you’ll want to make sure to dot your i’s and cross your t’s.

But now that you have all that ready, what should you send? Here are our ideas to get you started.

Newsletters

Set up a recurring email newsletter to share information about your products, the latest news, upcoming events, etc. Many companies send out a monthly newsletter. If possible, establish a recurring date (first Friday of the month, for example) for your newsletter, that way you establish consistency and have time to plan your email well in advance. Here are some things you can include in your monthly newsletter:

Blog Posts

We’re a big fan of repurposing content! What better way to promote your blog than to send your best blog posts to your email contacts? We recommend including an excerpt (or intro) of the blog post as well as an image. You can send one or several blog posts in each email, just make sure that your template is easy to understand.

Event Recaps

Did you just attend a great event? Let your contacts know! One way you can do this is by writing a blog post on the event including the event highlights, interesting sessions you attended, and your participation in the event.

Promotions

Do you have a special sale coming up? How about a holiday promotion? Make sure to include it in your newsletter or even send out a stand-alone email, it’s one of the best (free!) ways to increase sales.

Product Launches (and Feature Updates)

Include your new products or if you have a significant feature added to your product. Highlight the main benefit in the headline, include a good picture, and a few bullet points on the most impactful features to facilitate reading.

Awards

Don’t be shy! Make sure you boast about your accomplishments. Include a photo of the team with the award and a short description of why the award was so important for your product and/or service.

Product Reviews

Are your customers saying nice things about you? Testimonials are a great way to promote your products. When sending product reviews in emails, make sure to include a link to your product page (you might even want to highlight a special promotion).

Upcoming events

Make it easy to keep up with the most important upcoming happenings by including them in your email. Provide a brief explanation of each event, remember that what may be a well-known event for you might not be so for your contacts.

New Partnerships or Sponsorships

Highlight your new partners or sponsors in your emails. They’ll appreciate the gesture. You can include their logo, a brief explanation of your partnership and a link to their website.

With these recommendations in mind, you’ll be able to put together a successful email newsletter. See how emailing your contacts regularly increases the quality of your relationships and your sales and share with us in the comments.
